Jog-A-Thon is almost here!
This year's Jog-A-Thon is on Friday, April 24, 2015.
Students should have received pledge envelopes and a flyer with Jog-A-Thon information. Extra pledge envelopes and flyers can be picked up from the office. Proceeds from the Jog-A-Thon will fund our end of the year field day event as well as our pending garden project.
This year, each student will receive a Jog-A-Thon 2015 t-shirt which will double as a uniform shirt. Shirts will be distributed on the day of the event.
There are a lot of cool prizes this year for those who raise the most funds. Top fundraisers will be entered into a raffle to win prizes: Autographed Sacramento Kings jerseys, Kings gear, an autographed soccer ball by the entire Sacramento Republic FC, Sac Republic FC gear, 4 Sac Republic Tickets to a regular season game, 4 Rivercats Tickets to a regular season game, and a $50 Target gift card.

Field Day 2015 is May 29th!
Field Day is fun way to celebrate the end of the school year!
Children can participate in both WET and DRY play activities. THOSE WHO WANT TO GET WET should wear a swimsuit and bring a towel. (Swimsuits must be appropriate; no bikinis unless a t-shirt is worn as a coverup.) Sun screen should be applied before school so teachers don't have to worry about it.
LUNCH: All students will receive a hot dog lunch at no charge and will be allowed to eat outside during their lunch period.
IF YOU ARE INTERESTED IN VOLUNTEERING TO HELP AT FIELD DAY, PLEASE CONTACT THE STONEGATE PTO AT: STONEGATEPTO@AOL.COM.

Garden Project Plans
The PTO is working in partnership with the Washington Unified School district to fund a new garden for our students. While the Garden Project is still in the planning stages, we are hopeful that we will break ground soon!
Many businesses offer discounts and/or donations when customers mention Stonegate Elementary when they make a purchase. Business partners include:

Cards for Nugget, Raley's and Jamba Juice and applications for the Target Red Card can be picked up in the Stonegate School office. Look for the display on the bookshelf.
WHAT WE DO AND HOW YOU CAN HELP
Parents are an important part of the programs and activities at Stonegate Elementary. The PTO is an organization of parents and school staff who work together to support students. Over the last several years, the PTO has sponsored a variety of student activities, such as the Harvest Festival, Field Day, Jog-a-thon, school assemblies, and class field trips. We've purchased books for the library, supplies and equipment for classrooms, books for the middle school Battle of the Books, playground equipment, picnic tables and umbrellas, and a shade structure. We also host the annual staff appreciation luncheon. Our new funding goal is to implement a school garden for Stonegate.
- Attend PTO meetings, the third Thursday of each month, to hear about and discuss school events and issues.
- Volunteer in classrooms and PTO activities to make programs and events at Stonegate a success.
- Sign up to become a PTO member. Fill out the form attached and send it to school with your child. PTO will never share your information.
